Brides of 2026, this is your year to embrace personality, drama, and the beauty of reinvention. Bridal Fashion Week runways and early designer previews point toward a dramatic season where gowns aren’t just dresses, they’re statements. Think sculpted shapes, bold textures, detachable details, and fabrics that move with you.

So, what are brides wearing down the aisle in 2026? Here are the wedding dress trends every bride should have on her wedding day radar.

Basque is Back

The Basque waist, dipping into a soft “V” below the natural waistline, is back again in 2026. This time it’s paired with exposed boning or corsetry to create a sculptured, hourglass look. The Basque with exposed boning style is romantic, regal, and ultra-flattering if you want to elongate your torso without sacrificing movement.

Layered Lace & Mixed Fabrics

In 2026, look for beautiful brides adorned in mixed textures and contrasting fabrics: matte lace over tulle, satin skirts with sheer organza panels, beaded embroidery into flowing silhouettes. The result? Wedding dresses that are rich, dimensional, and photogenic, from your first step down the aisle to your first dance with your new husband.

Maximalism… with a Twist

Minimalism had its moment, but 2026 brides are leaning into statement pieces. Think bubble skirts, oversized bows, sculptural appliqués, and dramatic volume. Maximalism is back, but it’s more curated than chaotic. Hems are going playful with daring slits and asymmetrical lengths that let you show off your dancing shoes. What you can expect: an unforgettable, photo-worthy moment the second you step into the room.

Convertible & Detachable Designs

This next trend is for those brides who are indecisive, who want it all. Detachable sleeves, overskirts, and corset tops are everywhere this season, giving brides the ability to shift seamlessly from ceremony to reception. It’s versatility without compromise—you’ll look timeless for “I do” and ready to dance by dessert. Why settle for one look when you can have two (or three)?

Playful Necklines & Hems

In 2026, designers are reimagining the traditional wedding gown. The once-dominant sweetheart cut is being replaced with sexy halters that draw the eye to the clavicle, cat-eye necklines, and high necklines are stealing attention from the once-dominant sweetheart cut.

The cat-eye neckline is especially popular because it frames the face, highlighting the bride’s cheekbones and neck. It works especially well for brides who want a statement neckline without going strapless. It also works well with dramatic skirts or simple silhouettes because it adds visual interest up top.

A Hint of Color… Again

Although white will likely remain the bridal classic for decades to come, we’re seeing more brides float down the aisle in soft, ethereal colors. Much like 2025, 2026’s wedding dresses feature a palette of romantic hues from blush undertones to soft grays and pale metallics. Next year’s colors may even include layers of soft black tulle, adding a dramatic splash of individuality.

The Bride’s Choice

Bridal style in 2026 is all about romance with a twist. Think flattering Basque waists, playful bubble hems, and lush, dimensional lace. Exposed corsetry and detachable details keep things versatile, while soft pastels give forward-thinking brides a hint of color. Expect to see dramatic and dreamy, as brides in 2026 float dreamily down the aisle with personality stitched into every seam.

Move over, 2024 wedding dress trends, this year, sparkle is dimming, and romance is softly taking its place. This year’s gowns are all about depth, texture, and details that whisper rather than shout. Think matte lace, beautiful brocade, and softly glowing pearls. Here’s what you’ll be swooning over in 2025.

The Basque

One of the top-selling wedding dress designs in 2025 features the dreamy and romantic Basque waist. Basque, a V-shaped or U-shaped waistline that dips elegantly below the natural waist, offers all the dramatic draping in the sleeves without the weight of heavy beading or lace. Inspired by the Basque region in France, the graceful design gained prominence during the Victorian era. Victorian brides loved the waistline and its hourglass figure, enhancing the bride’s natural form, regardless of size. Add draping around the bust or waist to create a soft, romantic appearance.

As with any wedding dress, you’ll want to make sure it moves how you want. Will you be able to spend the day walking comfortably? Is it flattering with your torso length? This is a big one for the Basque because it can accentuate the body’s “pear shape” thanks to the V-shaped waist, which draws the eye to the upper body. In true balance, the Basque design can also complement the figure by creating a streamlined silhouette.

Color Me in Love

White will likely remain the top wedding dress color for years to come. But, brides in 2025 are experimenting with soft, romantic shades such as blush, champagne, muted pastels, and even metallic tones with soft ivory undertones. If you want a splash of color without completely going “non-traditional,” this lovely color palette fits the bill. Designers recommend pairing colorful gowns with neutral accessories to keep the focus on the unique shade.

Not Puttin’ on the Glitz

In 2025, brides are moving from high-wattage sparkle to the quiet poetry of brocade, matte lace, delicate embroidery, and pearls that glow rather than glare. And those pearls… Forget your grandmother’s stiff strands from days of yore. In 2025, pearls are sprinkled on veils, dotted across bodices, and scattered like stardust over tulle skirts. It’s less “mother of the bride,” more “ethereal goddess.” The vibe is luminous, soft, and a little bit magical.

Make a Statement with Sleeves and Necklines

Bare arms? Lovely. But this year, sleeves are stealing the show. From dramatic puffed shoulders to billowing bishop sleeves, arm décor is no longer an afterthought; it’s the star of the show. Speaking of stealing the show, designers are also embracing necklines. From square necks to high collars paired with dramatic sleeves, these elements frame the face and neck beautifully, bringing in interest without overcrowding the design.

At the end of the aisle….

2025 brides aren’t chasing flash: they’re curating a vibe with less sparkle and more soul. Whether you walk the aisle in dreamy brocade, soft pearl shimmer, or a gown with a Basque neckline that could stop traffic, one thing’s for sure: this year, romance wins.

2024’s brides have been dressed in the newest trends and styles. Brides-to-be have been scoping out the newest styles at New York’s Fashion Week and they were amazed by all of the new wedding styles. There are new styles that will turn heads at any wedding. We have a closer look at these styles and what to expect when you choose one on your wedding day.

The Floral Appliques

For those who love spring and summer weddings, floral appliques have always been a feature they want on their wedding dresses. There are some new fall collections in 2024 that add floral appliques as well. These dresses will stand out in a crowd.

Floral Appliques

One of the most popular floral appliques seen this year in a unique 3D feature. These rosettes at the bustline are one-of-a-kind. Alexandra Grecco showed a dress at Fashion Week that featured white and green 3D petals. When looking at the dress, it appeared as if there were literal flowers blooming on the gown. For any bride who loves flowers, the floral applique look is going to be big in 2024.

All the Bows

Ribbons and bows aren’t always the first choice for a lot of brides. Some feel as if they are childish, however, the new dresses for 2024 take bows to another level. Petite ribbons and bows are going to be one of the most popular additions to wedding dresses this year. Bows are generally used as accessories, but designers have started to add them to gowns for extra flair.

Elie Saab Wedding Dress with Bows

Elie Saab shared wedding gowns for the fall featuring bejeweled bows into the bodice of her dresses. These dresses will embrace how sweet the bows make them appear. This look is going to be a big trend this season and we’re here for it.

Interesting Shapes

Bridal trends in 2024 will feature some very interesting shapes as well. These dresses are for the maximalist in you. These bold dresses feature anything from ball gown skirts to huge amounts of tulle and lace, and some very artistic shapes that will make any bride look like a work of art.

Interesting Wedding Dress Shapes for 2024

For brides who love the newest trends in art or the avant-garde, these shapely dresses will bring out the masterpiece in you. If you are going for an over-the-top look, one of these dresses will make the impression that you’ve always wanted to make.

Bold Colors

The typical bride loves to make her entrance in a beautiful white gown, but times have changed. Brides have started to wear bold colors in their weddings to show off their true personalities. No longer is white the most widely used color for wedding gowns. In fact, as theme weddings become more popular, colors such as black have become the hit of the season.

Bold Color Wedding Dresses

Pink and blue dresses have become popular among brides in the spring, while gothic brides love to add as much black as they can to their weddings. Fairy tale weddings that have a broad theme can help the bride and groom to showcase just what they love about one another. These colorful dresses are a big part of that too.

Changing Up The Veil

Veils are a very important part of any bride’s gown and when brides are choosing the perfect one, there are a world of options to choose from. The latest styles of veils are vintage-inspired and can add a dramatic look to any gown.

Wedding Dress Veil for 2024

Some of the new veils for this season add lace, flowers, and even hints of color. For brides who are adding colors to their wedding, the perfect veil can also add flair to their wedding day.

Wearing Pants on the Wedding Day

There are plenty of brides who find that weaning a gown is not their style. With all of the gender norms going out the window these days, pants have become incredibly popular for brides to wear at their weddings. There are beautiful and unique jumpsuits that brides can wear on their special day.

Wedding Dress Pants 2024

Designers of wedding gowns have started to change up their styles to add pants and pantsuits to their lineups. This gives brides plenty of options to show off just who they are inside and out.

The perfect wedding gown or jumpsuit is out there for any bride getting married in 2024. By searching for the right one for your special day, you will get a chance to explore all of the options. Once you find the right outfit for your wedding, you will be able to walk down the aisle in style and finesse.

WEtv had a great hit reality show called Bridezillas. The show began in June 2004, and women shared their stories of getting engaged to be married and then planning their weddings based on their busy schedules. The show captured the women making plans for their weddings but added some humor and drama. The tenth season aired in March 2013. When fans thought this was the end, WEtv announced that the show was going into syndication. The twelfth and final season aired on March 15, 2019.

A spin-off, Marriage Boot Camp, followed five of the couples on Bridezillas. Fans of Bridezillas were captivated by the brides and all of the drama that went along with planning their weddings. What happened to the Bridezilla reality show?

Bridezillas’s Episodes

Each episode of Bridezillas focused on two different brides-to-be and their stories. Time was split equally between their stories. The brides would share how they met their fiances, from how they met to how they fell madly in love. While telling their stories, the brides would also share what their dream wedding would look like. Most of them had some extravagant weddings in mind, but they weren’t sure they could make it happen on their budgets.

What Happened to the Bridezilla Reality Show?

The episodes then would dive into every moment of planning their wedding. Viewers would be introduced to the wedding party, the fiance, the families, and the wedding planners. As much as the show wanted to be a way to show brides-to-be that wedding planning is stressful, there were a lot of positive moments on the show. However, it became so popular due to tension, uncontrolled feelings, and emotions while trying to plan the perfect wedding. The whole idea is that the bride is the only one who gets what she wants on her special day.

Bridezillas Were Too Serious

During the show’s third season, a new executive producer came on board. Her name is Laura Halerpin. She was ready to take the show in a completely new direction. She felt it was a bit ‘sleepy’ and needed to jazz it up. She turned the focus of Bridezillas into a more negative and dramatic one.

What Happened to the Bridezilla Reality Show?

Halperin told viewers, “There really weren’t many wedding shows on. I think that we said what we needed to say, which is sometimes the ladies take things a little too seriously.” After the brides appeared on the show, many of them told viewers that they should have just eloped and not had the stress of a big wedding. Their stories were all captured for the show, and most of them really didn’t think all of this drama and hard work was worth it.

Bridezillas was a very popular show on WEtv, and it is available on several streaming platforms for those who would like to watch it again. The show’s drama will never be recreated, but fans can rewatch all of the madness that they went through when planning their weddings.

Your special day is coming up, and there are a lot of decisions to make when it comes to finding the perfect wedding dress for your body and style. Every bride deserves to look amazing on their wedding day, no matter how large or small they are. If you are a plus-size bride, there are some incredible options for you when it comes to your perfect day. Let’s find out more about your beautiful dress options.

Plus Size Wedding Dresses and Bridal Gowns

No matter what size bride you are, you need to feel confident and beautiful on your wedding day. When it comes to finding the right dress, many plus-size brides find it impossible to find one that covers up the parts they want to hide. Wearing a wedding dress should emphasize your best assets, not the ones that make you feel uncomfortable about your body. There are plenty of styles that will help you to look your best on your wedding day.

Plus Size Wedding Dresses

A-Line

A-Line gowns are always a good look for plus-size brides. They are generally very elegant and have a nice silhouette. An a-line gown flares out at the hips and makes the torso look slightly narrow. The specific fabric chosen is also key for a plus-size bride. If you want a more feminine look, chiffon is the best fabric.

Empire Style

Another style of plus-size wedding gown that will look dazzling on you is an empire-style. Empire-style dresses are known for their fitted bodices that stop directly below the bust. Generally, they have a gathered skirt. The skirt hangs loose and long, making you look beautiful as you walk down the aisle. The fitted bodice is known for making the waist look higher than it is and has such a classic feel. This style is a classic and one of the most comfortable to wear on your wedding day. The roomy dress can help to hide the hips and wider waists.

Princess Cut

Princess Cut gowns are perfect for women ready to feel like a queen on their wedding day. These types of dresses have been worn by royalty all over the world, and they are perfect for plus-size brides.  This style hides bigger hips because of the enormous skirt. They can also give you an hourglass look if you’re top-heavy. If pear-shaped, this may not be your best look because it could make you look bottom-heavy. Be sure to choose a dress that is airy and light.

Mermaid

A mermaid-style gown has become very popular over the past few years. This isn’t generally the first choice for plus-size brides, but with the right body type, they can make you look like a queen on your special day. If you are taller, this could be the ideal dress for you. These dresses flare at the knees and are very type up top. This line, though, can make a very tall woman look gorgeous. The sexy line does start at the hips and goes all the way down.

Shopping For Plus Size Wedding Dresses

When it’s time to find your perfect dress, there is much to consider. Sizing on these dresses isn’t like the dresses you’re used to. It is a good idea to try on two to three sizes up because of the fit of these dresses. If the dress doesn’t fit perfectly, you can always adjust it to your body type.

Are you ready for your wedding day? If you are a plus-size bride, there are many options for you to walk down the aisle. Be sure to check out all these styles to find the perfect one.

Sometimes every detail of a celebrity wedding seems like an elaborate fantasy that you could never attain. But a lot of celebrities’ bridal bouquets can be recreated quickly and inexpensively by hand. And what’s more special than walking down the aisle with a bouquet of your own making? Take a look at some famous arrangements and how to recreate them.

Easy Bouquet: Katie Holmes’ Calla Lilies

Many celebs have walked down the aisle with a simple sheath of white calla lilies, and it’s easy to replicate their statuesque simplicity! This arrangement is as simple as can be, and doesn’t require wiring blooms or even a bouquet holder.

Celebrity Bridal Bouquets You Can Create

How to Recreate It:

  1. Buy wholesale calla lilies to cut on cost. Gather them together, and arrange them in a graceful tiered shape.
  2. Wrap securely with floral tape, then cover the tape with wide ribbon.

Moderate Bouquet: Kim Kardashian’s Polo Roses

For a classic statement, nothing works better than a bouquet of simple white silk and roses. The ginkgo-shaped cut-outs on the base of the bouquet make the transition between flowers and ribbon completely seamless. For a customized twist, you can try cutting out a different leaf shape that is special to you.

How to Recreate It:

  1. Cut large ginkgo leaf shapes out of white silk, and use fabric glue to attach them, leaves overlapping, to a bouquet holder.
  2. Outline the round shape of your bouquet by inserting about half of your roses around the outside of the foam base.
  3. Insert a thin wire into the base of each of the remaining rose heads; then cut off the stem and bend the ends back down until they meet. Press the wire into the foam. (Stems are often replaced with wire in order to make the handle of the bouquet less bulky)
  4. Wrap the base of the holder with a wide ribbon.

Difficult Bouquet: Kate Middleton’s Lilies of the Valley

Accented with hyacinth, myrtle, and (as a nod to her husband-to-be) sweet William, the future Queen of England had a stunningly delicate bouquet. Lily of the valley can be expensive, so don’t hesitate to supplement it with a favorite white flower of your own, like freesias, white delphiniums, or lisianthus.

Kate Middleton Wedding

How to Recreate It:

  1. Begin with the lilies of the valley (or whatever you primary flower will be), and form a skeleton of the shape that you want by inserting stems into a foam bouquet holder. Keep the front stems longer than those on the inside to recreate the original shield shape.
  2. Add in the hyacinth, using the same wiring technique as described above. Bend the wires, allowing the blooms to drape downwards from the cone.
  3. Fill in any gaps with the myrtle and sweet William, wiring and attaching in the same way.

After you’ve finished with your creation, mix floral food into a vase of water, and keep the flowers there at a cool room temperature. Make your bouquet a day before the wedding and have plenty of extra flowers on hand, should you need to replace any mistakes. Then just wait to wow the crowd on your big day!

Designers and celebrities go arm-in-arm these days.  From models-turned-household names to red carpet actresses who can carry a gorgeous gown better than anyone I know, these photographic women are helping push the designer perfume industry to new heights.  In their individual campaigns, they range from urban chic to evening sleek.  Each of their styles can be used as a muse for finding the perfect wedding dress, reception dress and a post-wedding date night dress.  Re-discover the beauty and inspiration.

The Bachelorette Party

givenchy-perfume-ad-with-liv-tyler

It’s a big night for you and your girlfriends.  Don’t bother staying in to watch movies and do pedicures, go all out and celebrate the exciting life you are about to embark on.  It’s a time for dressing up in a little number that softly floats around you and radiates the ecstatic, living-in-the-moment glow you just can’t help but exude.  You’re just oh, so very irresistible.

Your muse: Liv Tyler in Givenchy’s Eau de Parfum Sensuelle campaign

The Rehearsal Dinner Dress

ysl-parisienne-kate-moss-ad

The rehearsal dinner calls for a more reigned in and refined look than the let loose fun times of the bachelorette bash.  Keep it modern and pulled together with a form-fitting strapless dress.  Channel your inner Parisian with an effortlessly glamorous look.  A structured dress, a slimming jacket and purposefully mussed hair will do the trick nicely.

Your muse: Kate Moss in Yves Saint Laurent’s Parisienne campaign

The Wedding Dress

Your big moment, the monumental trading of vows in front of your dearest family and friends, should go down with a bang.  Take the spotlight in a voluminous gown with eye-catching, daring accessories and a billowing sash that trails you down the aisle.  Make the dress you covet a reality for a day you will never forget.

Your muse: Sarah Jessica Parker in Sarah Jessica Parker’s Covet campaign

The Reception Dress

Now you’re married happily ever after.  The pressure is off and you can blissfully glide through your reception with a sense of dreamy romance.  Let there be cake and lots of it as you make your newly married debut in a fun party frock.  Now is a great time for a festive splash of color; pink is perfect for a love-drunk newlywed.  Now it’s all la vie en rose, ma chérie.

Your muse: Maryna Linchuk (I know she’s not exactly a celebrity) in Dior’s Miss Dior Chérie campaign

The Date Night Dress

Settling in to the routine of married life does not mean letting go of date night.  Keep the romance alive with special nights where you can become completely absorbed in each other once again and not be distracted by work, phones or TV.  This is a night of pure regal luxury, a night out on the town.  Don a body skimming gown with just a touch of sparkle from some well-place diamonds and toast to your new life together.

There were so many engagements within the celebrity world last year that we needed a two-part post to cover just some of them.  Part I covered some of the more, shall we say regal, engagements.  Part II takes on a few of our favorite tabloid darlings to help spice things up.  Again, for clarification, these are last year’s engagements, which will hopefully blossom into this year’s much talked about weddings.  Let the bridezilla behavior begin!*

Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris

This winter-spring romance is destined to last a lifetime; Hefner’s lifetime, that is.  Having entered Hefner’s world while he was on the rebound from his breakup to Girls Next Door stars Holly, Kendra and Bridget, Harris quickly became the “Number One” girlfriend.  In a rush to finally divorce his wife, whom he has been separated from for 11 years, the Playboy Prince is all set to marry his bunny.

Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller

It may not be beauty and the beast, but it certainly is pretty and the geek.  Funnyman of the films Pineapple Express and The Green Hornet, Seth Rogen has finally popped the question to his longtime girlfriend and sometimes actress in his films, Lauren Miller.  These two creative types, both being actors, writer and producers, should have quite the entertaining marriage.

Ginnifer Goodwin and Joey Kern

Big Love star Ginnifer Goodwin and fellow actor Joey Kern met through a set-up by a mutual friend.  It stuck and two years later the couple has just announced their brand new engagement.  Kern designed the ring for Goodwin himself and presented it over the 2010 holidays.  The latest news is that they plan to wed this autumn.

Leann Rimes and Eddie Cibrian

The new storybook romance: both Eddie and Leann were married when they met on the set of their made-for-TV movie Northern Lights.  Sparks flew and both left their spouses for their newfound coupledom.  After countless Twitter battles between Leann and Eddie’s ex-wife, followed by denied engagements and pregnancies, the couple has finally confirmed that they are indeed on their way to happy matrimony.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard

Quickly becoming the new rom-com queen, Kristen Bell has helped shape her fame through the films Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Couples Retreat and When in Rome.  Dax has popped up in My Name is Earl, Knocked Up and Bell’s very own 2010 starring vehicle When in Rome.  The couple met in 2007 and have been going strong ever since.

Christina Applegate and Martyn LeNoble

Applegate, who will always be remembered in some way for better or worse as Kelly Bundy, has found love the second time around with Dutch musician Martyn LeNoble.  Together since 2008, the couple became engaged on Valentine’s Day 2010.  To complete the family portrait, they will welcome their first child together this January.

Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson

Jessica Simpson is forever the brunt of jokes, but she has managed to stay on the fame radar, build a well-priced accessories and clothing empire and has now found love once again.  In this whirlwind romance, Simpson started her courtship with Johnson in May of 2010 and by November the two pledged to walk down the aisle together.  At the speed they’re going, expect a wedding in 3…2…

Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo

Lachey’s ex-wife Jessica Simpson may have had a string of bad romances before finding her new Mr. Right, but Lachey found Minnillo in a split second.  After his divorce in 2005, Lachey wrote a song in which Minnillo starred in 2006.  After several years of dating and endless tabloid photos, the couple revealed their engagement just a week before Jessica Simpson announced hers.  No rivalry; none at all.

*We’re officially rebranding “bridezilla” to represent a strong and decisive woman who doesn’t settle for less.  The now passé image of an overbearing, difficult and unpleasant psychopath is dead and gone.

In the plaque-worthy words of the awesome Tina Fey in response to people calling Hillary Clinton a bitch:

“Yeah, she is.  So am I […].  You know what, bitches get stuff done.”
